Mosquito Control in Parks & Playgrounds

There are some areas, however, that face a problem that goes beyond general upkeep. If your parks and playgrounds is located near a pond, lake or similar wetland area, then there is a chance you are being swarmed with mosquitoes and other biting insects.This can really put a damper on your visit to the park, or can even deter you from visiting in the future.

HOW CAN I KEEP PLAYGROUNDS MOSQUITO-FREE?

Most playground areas include a lot of opportunities for kids to come in direct contact with playground equipment, including climbing structures, swings and slides. Most sprays would settle onto the equipment and would then be transferred to the children, but were not like other sprays. At Mosquito Guy, our spray adheres to plant life creating a vertical barrier that will strengthen with each visit. Within 24hrs of the first spray you will start to see results. Once we spray the park you only have to wait 30 minutes to allow the spray to dry and settle out of the air. Our spray also doesn’t have that awful chemical smell. Depending on whichever spray we use it’ll smell like either garlic, citronella, or cedar.

ARE THERE MOSQUITO ISSUES AT DOG PARKS?

The municipal park you visit might also include a section dedicated to dogs. These areas are typically fenced in areas that give your dogs a place to run around and play off the leash. Most of these areas will also include water fountains that allow dog owners to fill up their portable bowls for their buddies to drink from.

Unfortunately dogs (and cats) are susceptible to heart worm, which is a mosquito-borne disease that introduces parasites into their system. This means your pets can truly benefit from mosquito protection, too.

You might want to consider having these areas sprayed as well. If you are worried about your furry friends then you might want to consider spraying during closed hours as it’ll take roughly 30 minutes for the spray to dry and settle out of the air.
